Lock wall (formerly a place to tie up to for the night) -
damaged last year by Hurricane Irene's floods

but also for flood control

Typical scene along the Erie Canal

Waterford, NY - end of the Erie Canal
at the Hudson River

Town Dock at Waterford NY - we stayed here two nights
and met Cousin Paul & Beth from Toledo, OH
who happened to be traveling in the area

The last lock - the Federal Lock at Troy NY, on the Hudson River.
It's tidal and brackish from here on, down the river
to New York City

We think this may be the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater,
Pete Seegar's 100' sailboat - near Albany NY.
[Close, but no Seegar]

Close but no Seegar! Ha, did you really say that? Great pictures, what an adventure. Getting the mast back up should not have to be a DIY project. Sail on . . .
